Spotify's Front Left Live

Spotify’s first live playlist event in the Southern Hemisphere celebrated the flagship Front Left playlist in Sydney on Thursday October 11, with performances from King Princess, Cosmo’s Midnight, Baker Boy x Dallas Woods, Hatchie & Kota Banks x CXLOE.

Over 1000 fans got to experience one of Spotify’s flagship playlists, Front Left (formerly Indie Mixtape), in a live space with performances from some of Australia's most promising emerging talent includingCosmo’s MidnightBaker Boy x Dallas Woods, Hatchie, Kota Banks x CXLOE, and special, international guest King Princess.

Front Left Live launched with a collaborative set from two of Australia’s brightest pop names, Kota Banks x CXLOE. The pair became each other's supporting vocalist on Banks' self-love anthem "I'm It" and CXLOE’s captivating "Show You", before a cover of Katy Perry’s "Teenage Dream" inspired a wall-to-wall singalong.

Brisbane's Hatchie gave the audience a dose of dream-pop, bringing an ethereal glow into the room. Playing crowd favourites “Try” and “Bad Guy” from her debut Sugar and Spice EP, Hatchie treated Front Left fans to her incredible songwriting talents.  

Friends and collaborators, Baker Boy and Dallas Woods electrified the Front Left Live crowd with a sweat-inducing performance, their undeniable chemistry playing out across tracks including “9 Times Out of 10”, “Mr La Di Da” and “Black Magic”

Dynamite production duo Cosmo's Midnight kept the energy high. A finale of twinkling synth work, the pair invited the effortlessly cool Asta on stage for hits “Walk With Me”, “Talk To Me” and “History”, before special guest Winston Surfshirt performed “Get To Know”

Los-Angeles-based vocalist and songwriting phenomenon King Princess appeared to an adoring Front Left crowd. Quick-witted banter filled moments between singalong tracks “Upper West Side”“Talia”and “1950”, alongside three unheard songs as King Princess made her unforgettable Australian debut for Front Left Live.

Front Left Live delivered moments of high-energy elation, showcasing the joy of new music discovery, and why Front Left is Australia’s go-to destination for local music creators and listeners looking to uncover the greatest new artists producing innovative and genre-defying music.

Joining previous Spotify live playlist events, including Rap Caviar Live and Hot Country Live in the US, and Who We Be Live at Alexandra Palace in the UK, Front Left Live impressively launched Spotify’s first live playlist event in the Southern Hemisphere.
