Spring Loaded - a 2021 spring back to live music

No doubt 2020 was a fizzer of a year regarding live music. Amongst other things, we really mourned the simple act of coming together to enjoy the pleasure of celebrating live music.

Never fear though, as 2021 is seeing the industry adapting to a new world order where live music can resume. This is very good news indeed for those with a restless hankering to relive their alt rock youth by seeing live, local indie bands championed by festivals such as Big Day Out, Homebake and Harvest.

Why you ask? Well, to cater to these desires, the industry is launching in Sydney on Saturday May 8, a national indie alt rock festival called Spring Loaded. Basically it is spring back to what some might call the greatest era for indie alt rock. It will transport punters back to their indie alt rock roots. In Sydney, the Lawn at Randwick Racecourse will be rocking out to the likes of Grinspoon, You Am I, Regurgitator, Jebediah, Magic Dirt, Frenzal Rhomb, Custard, The Fauves, The Meanies, Tumbleweed, Screamfeeder, Caligula and MC Lindsay ‘The Doctor’ McDougall.

After Sydney, the festival travels nationally to 8 locations - Cairns, Bribie Island, Adelaide, Darwin, Gosford, Wollongong, Perth and Victoria.

As well as enjoying live bands, punters can indulge in craft beer and an enviable collection of the locale’s cherry-picked food trucks. Spring Loaded is a fully licensed 18+ event, strictly no BYO food or alcohol.

Tickets for all locations go on sale today 24 March at 10am local time.
