Sydney Fringe Festival is THE place to be THIS SEPTEMBER. Be sure to catch a couple of the touring shows and get a taste of what is happening around the world. The program is jam packed with award winners, 5 star reviews and delightful folks who are travelling across land and sea to share their stories with you. So head on down and give them some Sydney love.

With events spread out across our sprawling city,  and highlights the amazing work of our local independent artists, art makers and performers with work spanning 11 different genres , the Sydney Fringe Festival will amplify much loved areas of the greatest city in Australia with a month of unexpected treats, wonderful experiences and a whole lot of fun.

On September 1 the official opening celebration Fringe Ignite will take over the Oxford Street Hub for one massive precinct party. Filling the street, shopfronts, venues and spaces with live music and performance.

The bumper month continues with gigs at the Oxford Art Factory, East Sydney Community & Arts Centre and Eternity Playhouse. And activating events and performances at the National Art School, UNSW Art & Design, an amazing cabaret program in The Beresford, and closing the festival with a giant Heaps Gay event in the precinct.

This will be epic, there will be dancing ...there will be mirror balls ... and we will have fun.

Kings Cross Hotel has teamed up to create a massive late night hang with all four floors of the hotel activated for the entire month with comedy, variety, theatre, performance art, music and Fringe Club hang vibes. The incredible Kings Cross Theatre, who present some of Sydney's best indi theatre year round on Level 2, will curate a special Fringe season on Level 4 – plus a little something else somewhere else! Fringe is taking over the Dive Bar on the ground floor as a pop-up comedy club and level 3 will house our most epic FRINGE CLUB ever, with three ticketed performances a night plus free late night programming on Thursday, Friday and Saturdays featuring Ambassador Andy Dexterity, open mic comedy and more.

Legs Hub is the home of tumbling, flying, jumping, crawling or leaping. The incredible crew at the legendary Legs On The Wall company have teamed up with Fringe to transform their amazing Red Box facility in Lilyfield into a circus hub for this year’s festival.

Dance Hub at PACT Centre for Emerging Artists in Erskineville will feature an array of early career and professional dance artists, with multiple performances each night – plus a courtyard festival bar by our friends at Young Henrys and Archie Rose Distilling Co. – catch the train in and make a night of it.

Festival Village returns to Kensington Street, Chippendale for 2018. This year is all about taking over your senses and transforming the village into an absolute feast. Of course there will be amazing food and great drinks as Kensington Street is renowned for, but there will also be some super fun surprises. Dinner and show packages. And the historic Sandstone Cottage is transformed with immersive theatre, installations, cabaret and burlesque.

Seymour Centre are hosting all month long with six festival offerings.

High Rollers Rooftop Roller Rink will be operating all day Saturday and Sunday, along with night time sessions from Wednesday to Friday at Broadway. Lace-up the boots, dig out the lycra and get set for the most fun you can have on 8 wheels. Just a heads up, you can only buy tickets at the door for this event.

Western Sydney program has expended to include pop-up activations and hubs in Liverpool and Parramatta. Plus, an indi theatre season with Q Theatre and loads more.

And thanks to Archie Rose Distilling Co. the beautiful Edwardian ballroom of 5 Eliza Street Newtown, home to the Old 505 Theatre, will be transformed into an amazing gin bar for pre and post show delights.

Kensington Street is helping Sydney Fringe Festival put the ‘art’ back into party, with not one, but two incredible festivals.

September 8th Eats | Beats | Street will see the street transformed into a creative metropolis, presenting some of Sydney’s most exciting and talented street artists and performer doing live street art on the street and performance

The Closing Event gives you the chance to unleash your inner bacchanal at Kengsington Street for The Last Supper on September 30th as the street puts on the party to end all parties, a night that promises to be a multi sensory feast for your mouth and mind.
