The Birdcage

When I think of showgirls, I longingly remember the titillating cabarets of Paris. Some think of Las Vegas spectaculars. Now there's no need to travel except through time. Now Whirly Bird in collaboration with multi-award winning WB Productions have got your Saturday nights fixed with an evening of glamour dinner and show cabaret entertainment.

The sultry spectacular showcases an array of amorous live performances by exceptional out of this world artists, flaunting a breathtakingly eye-catching evening for all. The striking showgirls will present a variety of acts with the inclusion of a few house favourites: the Famous Feather Fan Dance, classy Champagne Glass Act, sexy aerial hoop Lyra and Pole Artistry. The unique forms of vintage burlesque highlight the glamour and glitz of the beloved era that was the Roaring Twenties. Think feathers flouncing, razzle dazzle, and sparkling sequins and of course the drinks will be flowing.

In true 20s Birdcage style, the beverage menu will focus on all things supple and dry, including varietals of both Champagne and gin. The mood is set for guests as they are greeted on arrival with Mumm Champagne’s latest release ‘Grand Cordon’. Continuing the lively evening with your choice of gin creation from the bespoke menu, perhaps a dirty martini may suit?

Further indulge with the 3-course banquet starting with salumi, pickled vegetables, parfait and mozzarella & saffron risotto balls. Moving on, the mains are sure to please with slow roast duck leg or apple & fennel stuffed pork. Last but certainly not least, chef will present Cointreau-filled soft centred chocolate fondant and a rum & banana semifreddo. More of a savoury person? Rest assured, a crowd-pleasing cheese board shall also be present amongst the array of sweets.

And the bonus here is that with all the light rail construction in Sydney CBD, the Whirly Bird Pyrmont setting offers another form of elegant and sexy respite from 21st century Sydney.

The sensational show spectacular including Champagne on arrival and three courses in a share-style banquet will be just $89 per person from Saturday April 14th.

The extravaganza will showcase weekly, every Saturday and tickets will be available via their website: www.thebirdcagesydney.com
