Laugh Outta Lockdown : Two Hats

Society expects females to capably wear a variety of hats, hit the ground running at whatever activities they are performing in any given millinery titfer, and also be able to jag a fella with the greatest of ease. It seems a tall order when put like that. However, the superhero feat is all too easily forgetten while women are trying to be the best at everything, feminine and flirty, the in control boss, nice as pie, and quite literally never saying how they feel and taking all of life's ordeals and injustices that result from being female, on the chin.

And so these are the dilemmas Kate Knott and Angela Bradburn present to their audience in their comedy improv flight of fancy A Couple of Nice Bitches - Two Hats. Expect a bit of acting, singing, dancing and straight out improv.

Appearing on opening night of the Laugh Outta Lockdown comedy festival at Marrickville's The Factory Theatre, in nothing more than a shipping container theatre improvised to resemble the innard aisles of a 747, Kate and Ange hosted punters cleverly and wittily on a super duper sketch flight of comedic proportion.

It is fair to say that Laugh Outta Lockdow festival goers are granted a bit of in your face feminist, laugh out loud, comedy by this dynamic duo. Ange and Kate are just two gals lamenting the fact that even in this day and age, two ambitious, confident, hardworking, competent and assertive females are known as "A Couple of Nice Bitches" if they are lucky. Don't even think about finding a love that lasts beyond a few months, or God forbid settling down and having a kid.

On this comedic flight toward feminist understanding, audiences will meet a number of personas. Be ready to listen to the wonderings of Left Breast and Right Breast, the songs of a pair of French laundry women looking for their perfect match, the conversations of two air hostesses with the mostest syrupy saccharine passive aggressiveness trying to resolve their differences of opinions, a pair of high powered business women catching up to compare notes on their attempts for professional recognition by their staff or employers, and to top it off, an improv pair of characters styled by audience volunteers.
