With lockout laws ending, and restrictions easing, the vital entertainment district of Kings Cross is bursting back to life.

KXT (Kings Cross Theatre) and Rogue Projects are delighted to be playing a part in this much needed re-vitalisation with the much anticipated new play You’re Not Special presented in association with bAKEHOUSE Theatre Co.

Directed by Samantha Young, with design by Anna Gardiner and Martin Kinnane, You’re Not Special is a darkly comic look at life and love in an age where screens rule and what we want is only a click away. Featuring Ariadne Sgouros, Kate Skinner, and Arkia Ashraf making his indy mainstage debut, this new Australian work explores the dangerous line between truth and fiction in the digital age.

Maybe the stranger in the park isn’t a stranger.
Maybe our work is designed to destroy us.
Maybe everything we do has been carefully planned and choice is an illusion.

A young couple move in together, while a new acquaintance threatens to disrupt their lives. But that’s only the beginning. Things are about to get very, very complicated. From the writer of The Block Universe and The Wind in the Underground, You're Not Special is a dark comedy about relationships, technology and the dangerous line between truth and fiction in the digital age.

March is a terrific month to come out to support independent theatre and the Kings Cross precinct. See you there.
