Australian Open

Some days it seems that life revolves around nothing but the games people play. Two prime examples of this theory are people's devotion to playing the games of love and tennis.

It therefore doesnt take a high emotional IQ to realise that Angus Cameron's idea to combine the two  into a rollicking, quick-witted play to be showcased during the 2020 Mardi Gras Festival, is a love game all over.

Open relationships, sexting,  family ties, exploring your sexuality no matter what age, as well as the concepts of marriage, parenting in changing times, and being gay in a hetro world are just a few of the key concepts thrown comedically across the net in Australian Open.

Fresh-faced queer indie theatre outfit, bub, have served up a quality production with the play's world premiere at Kings Cross Theatre (renamed Queens Cross Theatre throughout Mardi Gras).

Be ready for lots of laughs, lots of jaw-dropping gawking at toned fit bods as well as some heart warming moments as we see Lucas not only taking on Federer at the Australian Open but also striving to live the dream of continuing an open relationship once he marries his long term boyfriend Lucas, much to the astonishment of Lucas' parents.

Directed by Riley Spadaro and featuring an all-star cast including Di Adams ( Trevor), Miranda Daughtry (Things I Know To Be True), Patrick Jhanur (Single Asian Female, Banging Denmark), Tom Anson Mesker (A Taste of  Honey) and Gerard Carroll (Once), prepare yourself for an intergenerational grand slam that will leave you in stitches.
