A Lethal Cabaret Starring Caitlin Rose

From doting housewife to murderous seductress, this femme fatale - played by emerging musical theatre performer Caitlin Rose - takes us on a high-speed joyride through the thrilling twists and turns of a classic film noir mystery.

The instant her retro heels hit the stage Caitlin delivers in abundance, keeping us hooked with alternating story and song as the plot unravels at the hands of this manipulative, malevolent, man-eating mastermind. Charmingly accompanied on the keys by Harry Collins (also Musical Director), she shares a sordid tale that somehow manages to evoke both empathy and humour amongst the horror as she seeks to justify her journey to manipulation, infidelity and, of course, murder.

Despite her dark path, moving ballads and cheeky tunes carry us along at an exciting pace and provide insights that allow us to connect with the person behind the perfectly coiffed hair and pearls to ensure our lethal lady remains endearing.

This rapid-fire cabaret, sans intermission, was thoroughly engaging from first note to last and one of the sassiest musical theatre productions this writer has witnessed.
