Erko Turko

To the locals it’s known more concisely as Erko Turko, but it’s full, and somewhat less catchy name is Erskineville Turkish Pide & Kebabs. Close to Newtown station but off King Street, making it a quieter choice in all regards - but no less popular mind you. For their finest dishes it’s in the name, and you can rarely go wrong with one of their kebabs. There’s less of a challenge in a good meat dish, as most of the flavour is already there - what’s much more impressive is a great falafel, so try it. It’s so good it scarcely counts as vegetarian.
