The Merton Hotel

There aren't too many small venues like this left in Sydney. The Merton Hotel is a bit of a surprise. It's like stepping into an unrenovated time warp. But it's a good type of surprise. The family owned and run pub is just like a pub should be with friendly bar staff, live music and trivia and a bistro out the back (with a large range of yummy cheap curries: Caribbean or Mexican goat; Jamaican Jerk Chicken; Burmese pork; Steamed fish in lemongrass; Malaysian chicken; Massaman beef) and a B&B upstairs.
