Afterglow: On The Border of Things

@ PACT centre for emerging artists Inc

$15

“This road trip is a chance to catch up with my Uncle Ai. When I was in primary school, he left to go fruit-picking. We haven’t really talked much since then. As adults, we are basically strangers and this project is an excuse to make up lost time, and just hang out as if he never left.”

‘On The Border of Things Part One’ is a bilingual performance installation exploring the movement of people, agriculture and the environment. Sydney-based interdisciplinary artist James Nguyen and his uncle Cong Ai Nguyen, an itinerant fruit picker, created this exciting new work.  ‘On The Border of Things’ was developed during James’ 3 Year Vacant Room Residency and was co-commissioned by PACT and Next Wave. ‘On The Border of Things Part One’ is supported by the City of Sydney through the Matching Grants Program.

DJs will play each night on our foyer stage after ‘On The Border of Things’.
