Singer-songwriter Angel Olsen has, over the past few years, ascended to the top of the indie rock pile. From her more humble country-influenced folk beginnings, Olsen's music has expanded into raw and writhing rock 'n' roll - the perfect setting for her sonorous Roy Orbison-like voice and openhearted lyrics. Her latest record, My Woman, is the follow up to 2014's Burn Your Fire for No Witness, and furthers that record's exploration of incandescent introspection.
Following the release of the new album on September 5th, Angel Olsen will be coming to Australia in December, to grace Berry's Fairgrounds Festival. While she's here, she'll be stopping by the Sydney Opera House for what is sure to be a marvellous show from this magnetic and uncompromising performer.
