A provocation for the curious, Culture Up Late turns the Ausstralian Museum inside out. With VR experiences, short and sweet tours, hands-on workshops, live music and performances, enjoy a mid-week diversion with a bit of a difference. It’s also the perfect opportunity to enjoy the latest exhibitions, during its quieter moments.

Valentine’s Day will be an evening exploring affairs of the heart in their many exquisite forms, dedicated to those unimpressed by crass commercialism, glib sentiment or lazy clichés.

The event will include:

Live Music: The Acappelicans
The award-winning ensemble of songbirds bring their sparkling harmonies to songs of love gone right, and love gone wrong. Performances at 5:30pm, 7:00pm, 8:15pm

Museum Speed Dating

Single? Join this fun speed dating session hosted by actor Drew Fairley in our recently renovated Westpac Long Gallery. Everyone you meet loves museums, so you already have something in common! Every hour from 5.30pm.

Get up to speed with the latest science news, discoveries and breakthroughs with specialists from the Museum and the Australian Nuclear and Science Technology Organisation in this lively review, then drill deeper into the evening’s topic du jour with our guest expert. 6:15-7:00pm
