City Recital Hall is proud to announce acclaimed Australian musical theatre star, Caroline O’Connor, will return to Australia in October 2018 for a special show for one night only. From Broadway With Love will feature Caroline performing her all-time favourite songs from the Broadway stage - Chicago, West Side Story, Funny Girl, Follies, Sweeney Todd, On The Town, Mack and Mabel, Anastasia, Anything Goes, The Rink and many more. Add to that songs made famous by Judy Garland and Edith Piaf, and it promises to be an evening not to be missed at the City Recital Hall on Friday 26 October. Caroline O’Connor is one of Australia’s most acclaimed and loved theatre, film and television actresses. She has most recently appeared as Countess Lily in the Broadway musical Anastasia and Anna in the London production of The Rink. She is perhaps best known for playing Nini in Baz Luhrmann’s Oscar-winning film Moulin Rouge as well as Velma Kelly in Chicago on Broadway and in Australia and Mabel Normand in Mack and Mabel in the West End, for which she received a 1996 Olivier Award nomination for Best Actress in a Musical. Caroline’s other theatre roles include the one-woman play Bombshells (Arts Theatre, London) which was written especially for her and for which she received her second Olivier Award nomination, Hildy in On The Town (London Coliseum), End of the Rainbow (Sydney Opera House) and Edith Piaf in Piaf (Melbourne and Sydney). Caroline played Ethel Merman in the 2004 Cole Porter biopic De-Lovely. This show, directed by Tyran Parke, features Caroline O’Connor with an orchestra conducted by George Ellis, and special guest performances by Tyran Parke and the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Choir.
