Colonel Chris Hadfield recently served as Commander of the International Space Station where he gained worldwide acclaim for his breathtaking photography and his music video, a zero gravity version of David Bowie’s Space Oddity, which has received over 25 million views. Bowie praised the cover, calling it “possibly the most poignant version of the song ever created.” Colonel Hadfield spent decades training as an astronaut and logged nearly 4,000 hours in space, orbiting Earth 2,600 times.

To coincide with Hadfield's tour of Australia, the folks at Golden Age Cinema and Bar approached him to pick a film to screen - he selected Moon, a masterpiece of existential sci-fi starring Sam Rockwell as a lonely miner on a distant satellite and Kevin Spacey as the voice of the computer that serves as his only company. It also happens to be directed by David Bowie's son Duncan Jones.
