Following several sold-out events in 2016, Queerstories, Maeve Marsden’s LGBTQI storytelling project, will run monthly in 2017, with support from the City of Sydney.
Launching on 3 February, Queerstories will bring a diverse line-up to Redfern comedy venue Giant Dwarf. The opening night will feature iconic queer DJ Sveta Gilerman, award-winning writer Benjamin Law, artist and activist Simon Hunt (aka Pauline Pantsdown), Disability and Queer Rights Activist Jax Jacki Brown and writer, podcaster, musician and proud transwoman, Liz Duck-Chong.
Winner of ‘Best Spoken Word’ at Sydney Fringe 2016, Queerstories was born out of producer and performer Maeve Marsden’s desire to hear more diverse stories from the LGBTQI community.
