Last seen winning the triple j Hottest 100 and performing their biggest shows yet, 'Hoops' hitmakers The Rubens return for their Opera House debut – previewing their anticipated third album and playing fan favourites including the new single, 'Million Man'.
Emerging fully formed with the swaggering soul of 'Lay It Down', the three Margin brothers Zaac, Sam and Elliot joined forces with childhood friends Scott Baldwin and William Zeglis in the small coastal town Menangle, then within a year found themselves recording in New York with legendary producer David Kahne (The Strokes, Lana Del Rey). Combining monstrous blues grooves with pop hooks that dominate live, the quintet continue to surprise with the recent news that their new album is being made with Run the Jewels' secret sonic weapon, Little Shalimar.
Hibernating in a decommissioned World War II bunker-turned-studio for much of the past year, The Rubens are ready to unleash their heaving grooves on the Concert Hall stage for a night of sweaty rock 'n' soul.
