Screening as a companion to the three-part documentary The American Epic at the 2016 Sydney Film Festival, The American Epic Sessions finds the same team behind the documentary laying down some tracks on lovingly restored vintage studio gear. Artists like Jack White, Elton John, the late Merle Haggard, Nas, Taj Mahal and more stepped up to the mic to pay tribute to the influential music that gave birth to practically all modern American music.
