The Salesman - Special Film Screening

@ Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre

$11.50 - $17.50

Sydney Film Festival and Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre (CPAC) will screen 2017 Oscar-winner for Best Foreign Language Film, The Salesman, for their next monthly film screening. The haunting thriller by Iranian master Asghar Farhadi (A Separation), will get its South Western Sydney debut on Friday April 7th at 7:30pm.

A tense and often enigmatic story of a marriage facing extraordinary circumstances, The Salesman takes many of the themes of Farhadi's first Oscar-winning film A Separation and creates a morally complex and confronting tale.

The Salesman follows Rana (Taraneh Alidoosti) and Emad (Shahab Hosseini), an Iranian couple involved in Iran’s bustling theatre scene. Forced to leave their apartment due to a dangerous construction project in a neighbouring building, the couple moves to the centre of Tehran where they become embroiled in a life-altering situation involving the previous tenant.

To accompany the screening, book in a Middle Eastern mezze feast of hommus, baba ghanoush and a meat skewer and kafta - or tabouli and falafel for vegetarians - before the screening, made by the CPAC’s new Head Chef Federico Rekowski.
