FANTA PANTS

IN A WORLD FIRST FOR THE BRAND, FANTA AUSTRALIA has today launched a functional and fashion-forward collection of clothing and accessories that makes thirsty runway-goers a thing of the past. The range allows all style-conscious lovers of Fanta to become FANTA PANTS™ - a term previously available for a fortunate few.

In partnership with Australia's leading fashion business college The Fashion Institute, the capsule collection was conceived through a collaborative process with talented up-and-coming fashion students. Tasked with capturing the effervescent essence of Fanta, the selected submissions for the range were chosen on the basis of their ability to not only stop traffic but give Fanta fans a drinking experience like never before.

The collection was first revealed yesterday at a directional photo shoot set against the stunning back-drop of Sydney harbour. Sported by runway models blessed with naturally ginger locks, the boundary pushing fashion-forward spirit of FANTA PANTS™ shone through, with provocative styling and high-fashion editorial poses.

The limited edition, highly exclusive line celebrates all things orange, bold and bubbly across four key pieces inspired by the renowned colour, fun, zestiness and lip-smacking taste of Fanta. Mixing streetwear and chic conceptual catwalk looks, at the heart of each design are fashion trends currently blowing up the global runways. Retro 90s poppa pants and velvet flares, transparent outerwear and oversized logos take FANTA PANTS™ to the next level of extra. In addition to these aesthetic cues, are functional elements to give wearers a new and enhanced experience for drinking Fanta.

Featuring a see-thru jacket with built in re-usable straws, bum-bags equipped with insulated can holders and of course, the pièce de résistance and namesake: two styles of FANTA PANTS™. Each are custom-designed to seamlessly carry cans of the fizz and have heads turning on the streets.

The Collection

The Flare Pants:

The fluted hero and namesake of the collection, these fabulous flares are created with an orange crushed velvet and equipped with deep, insulated Fanta can shaped pockets, to keep essential supplies on hand and icy cold.

The Popper Pants:

The 90’s called and said we’re back with the stylish homage to popping a can of the classic beverage. With Fanta can lid poppers, the seam splitters come with two can holders so you can flash your FANTA PANTS™ with pride.

The Jacket:

A conversation between contrasting ideas, The Jacket mixes the sartorial with the purposeful. Taking on the big transparent trend of 2018, the piece is complete with orange edging AND a pocket that fits your Fanta can – complete with straw that runs up to the neck, for all to see the vibrant beverage zipping and providing sips on the go. The best part? No need to worry about spills – just give it a wipe down and you’ll be parading your FANTA PANTS™ around town in no time.

The Bum-bag:

The once divisive accessory has taken its place as top accessory of 2018. A style that’s dominating the fashion scene, bum-bags, or fanny-packs as the Americans call them, have been seen over the shoulders of some of the world’s most influential figures and designers. The FANTA PANTS™ bum-bag makes a bold colour statement to add to your collection with an intriguing difference – insulated can pockets and an over the shoulder straw holder, for street-ready Fanta gulping.

One of five The Fashion Institute designers to collaborate on the line, Brie Wakefield, explained that when it came to conceptualising the project, the process was straightforward. “Orange really is the new black. Who doesn’t want to be flaunting FANTA PANTS™ this fashion season? The brief was to bring the vivacity of Fanta to life with practical enhancements to make sure sipping at home, on the streets of Australia or even on the runway, was possible.”

“Fanta fans really are on the cutting edge of all things style. Now they can enjoy the delicious taste while repping a look that is so hot right now. We’re thrilled to see the range come together. There really are no limits to where we can take FANTA PANTS™, or where FANTA PANTS™ can take the wearer”, said Fanta spokesperson Josh Gonski.

Highly exclusive, the collection will be only available for fans via a competition on the Fanta Facebook page and on Instagram: @fantapantsAU #fantapants
