How To Live A Soulful Life: Increase The Love In Your Life

How much love do you have in your life?

Isn’t this what we all want? So much of what we do in life to receive more love, to feel more love, to experience more love? If we dig deep, isn’t this the ultimate truth?

It may look like that we do our best in presenting a case to somebody so that it gets accepted, but is entwined in this the message of, ‘am I good enough?’  ‘Did they like what I presented?’  ‘Did they like what I displayed, what I put together, how I put together, what I expressed, how I delivered it?’ etc and more…. Right?

If we are honest with ourselves, how much of the time do we look for this kind of validation, perhaps even approval from someone or something outside ourselves.

What if we had enough love within ourselves, to still be able to do all of these, just by the message of needing the validation and approval of someone or something outside ourselves to give us the message that we are okay.

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.“ ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.

How would it feel if we accepted ourselves exactly as we are in this world, with warts and all, in every way, on every level? Does that mean we will stop trying? Does that mean we would stop trying to improve ourselves or to learn something more or new? Absolutely not! It doesn’t mean that we become stagnant in the evolution of life and our journeys in this world. What it means is that we reach a place deep in our hearts of peace, of contentment. This can then grow the love for ourselves.

Many, many spiritual and self-help personal development teachers have taught for years, for decades already, the concept that it is very difficult to truly love someone if we do not love ourselves. Do we agree with this statement, you may or you may not?

It took me years to understand this or really subscribe to this, and what I came to realise that what this message was referring to, was the extent of our love being conditional verses unconditional with others. In other words, the less we have accepted ourselves, the more we possibly have expectations of others, what does love look like, sound like. What are the gestures of love? What are the expressions of appreciation, and it is in the expectations that can be our biggest pitfall. The less we expect, the more unconditional we can be in our love and with our love for ourselves as well as for others.

“Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.“ ~ Lao Tzu

When we realise that love is a state of being, we can start to align with the principle of “staying in the love”. Many teachings especially at this current day and age refer to this all the time, stay in the love.

How do we do that? How do we stay in the love when the mind is racing off like crazy, the emotions are running wild…. when we have been hurt, disappointed, let alone feeling let down or betrayed by somebody? How do we physically, literally do it that we stay in the love when that is what we are experiencing?

The Buddhist teachings teaches that love is action, kind words, doing something for somebody that is loving when they are for example, in pain or unable to do that for themselves. But can we always detect this? Can we really see it for what it is? Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Sometimes we are even completely blind when somebody is trying to offer us love. We cannot even see it, let alone feel it.

One of the biggest challenges in life is to receive love, to accept it, to welcome it. This is my personal experience from all the people I have worked with. This is one of the most common and biggest challenges, to welcome in love, to receive it, to accept it when someone is giving it to us, because right away the thought process can be, “then I will owe them something”, “then what would they expect, what do I then do?”. “What does that mean? Then they expect something else”, etc etc.

These are expressions of the conditional nature of love in the human condition. The more we can, [using spiritual vocabulary], the more we can purify our hearts from these kinds of attitudes, mindsets, beliefs, attachments, expectations and more, the freer our heart will be, the more peace we will experience in our hearts. The less we will have chatter in our minds and doubts of what someone does mean or doesn’t mean by their actions or by their words or the absence of those.

The Buddhist wisdom also teaches that the heart is the core of life and the key to everything. The soul is what guides the heart. Our soul carries the message.

It is the message that guides the heart to open, to expand, to transform and to reveal concealed messages of love.

So where are you at this moment and in this point in your life, in your heart and in the love in your life?

This may be personal love. This may be spiritual love and the love for other human beings, animals. Or how is your ability to be in that state of love? How much do we align ourselves with the frequency of love? There are many tools and techniques, practices and spiritual practices that we can apply to get ourselves into that state, to align our soul heart mind and body with the frequency of love, with the message of love.

I would like to now invite you into a small practice which I have led here and invited you to join me many times before. But is it too much to do it again? Perhaps not? Anyhow, the choice is yours.

If you would like to now to close your eyes, as long as you are not driving, in that case you can read this later. 😊

Place your left palm on your navel, right hand on your heart.
Visualise light in your heart. This can be golden light, purple light, rainbow light, white light, whatever coloured light that works for you.

Inhale and exhale naturally 3-5 times to allow yourself to pause, go within.

Simply repeat now 3-5 minutes.

“I love my heart and soul
I love my heart and soul
I love my heart and soul
I love my heart and soul
I love my heart and soul
I love my heart and soul
I love my heart and soul
I love my heart and soul…..”

Continue to repeat however long you wish.
Close the practice with the simple affirmation “Hao hao hao”. This means perfect, get well.

Do this anytime throughout the day, when you feel less than loving, loved and more to, restore yourself back into the state of love, kindness, compassion, generosity and more.

May you have love in your heart and soul.

May you have peace in your heart and soul.

With greatest love,

Master Mirva
