Romance Was Born x Paul Yore Debut Stronger Together

Tuesday night Romance Was Born in collaboration with Australian Contemporary artist Paul Yore debuted their highly anticipated Winter ‘23 collection ‘Stronger Together’, at Sydney’s Carriageworks from within Yore’s new architecturally-scaled installation ‘WORD MADE FLESH’.

With a packed front-row and a buzzing atmosphere, fashion, music and media celebrity guests included Chloe Hayden, Julia Stone, Ngaiire, Montana Cox, Sarah Ellen, Tom Derickx, Emma Lung, Krew Boylan, Meg Mac, Jessica Rowe, Pip Edwards, Nadia Fairfax-Wayne, Kate Waterhouse, Nathan McGuire, Suzan Mutesi, Hanan Ibrahim, Bianca Beers, Jenny Kee, Del Kathryn Barton, Bianca Spender, Kit Willow, Alice McCall, Ken Done, Linda Jackson, Kitty Callaghan and Mikey Nolan.

Stronger Together features all the fabulous hallmarks of a Romance Was Born collection seamlessly combined with Yore’s art and aesthetic. Seeing the creation of garments that embody Yore’s slogans in a series of gowns called; ‘Dreams can come true.” “Nothing to see here.” “I’m not sorry.” “The truth is out there.” Signature Romance Was Born techniques include beautiful hand-worked details that feature intricate beading and sequin work, appliqué, and upcycled vintage pieces like crochet blankets, military uniforms and pretty floral silk quilts.These elements unite fiercely to combine in delicate balance on hand-painted gowns and exquisite one-off pieces.

Highly acclaimed Make Up Artist Sean Brady, created bold and dynamic Make Up for MECCA, celebrating his engagement with the queer community. Hair Director Deanne Parker-Attwood, created a polished, slicked back wet-hair look for Schwarzkopf, complimenting the make-up beautifully.
