Australia's Biggest Morning Tea

On Thursday, people in Sydney and across NSW will be putting the kettle on and getting together for the official Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea #BiggestMorningTea to help raise vital funds for Cancer Council NSW.

Whether an office morning tea, a school bake sale or a catch up with old friends, NSW residents are encouraged to make their cuppa count and help support the 1 in 2 Australians who will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85.

Jim L’Estrange, CEO, Cancer Council NSW said:

“What better excuse for a tea break than to join us for Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea today. Funds raised today, and throughout May and June, will help support those affected by every type of cancer, along every part of the cancer journey.

“We have recently awarded grants to 10 research projects that are conducted by Australia’s finest researchers. They will set out to discover new methods to curb cancer and look at new ways of treating it.

“Our prevention and advocacy programs aim to reduce the risk of cancer in our communities, while our practical and emotional support services help to ease the burden for all those affected by cancer.”

Every Biggest Morning Tea matters. In 2016, Cancer Council is aiming to recruit over 11,500 generous morning tea hosts and raise $4.8million in NSW alone.

While Thursday is the official date for Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, you can still get together and help beat cancer later this month and in June. You can register to host an Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea until the end of June by visiting www.biggestmorningtea.com.au or by calling 1300 65 65 85.
