NEW The Grocer Surry Hills

New to Surry Hills, The Grocer is a fun little add-on grocery store at The Book Kitchen which stocks fresh produce, go-to items like milk and eggs, as well as a wonderful array of The Book Kitchen house made produce in jars and bottles, so aptly named 'Only Good Stuff'. When in Surry Hills its easy to pop in and pick up an avo and some eggs or a Brooklyn Boy Bagel and some chutney!

The Grocer products include:

Fresh fruit, vege & herbs, really competitively priced - all stuff owners Dave and Amelia Birch use in The Book Kitchen on the menu. The Chef, Dave goes to Flemington Markets twice a week to get the best and freshest produce, and has built up great relationships over six years. They also get produce from Amelia's parents property at Merribee on the South Coast.

Here's fantastic news. The Grocer also does a 'Produce Exchange', whereby locals with surplus produce growing in their gardens can exchange it for some jam, or chutney or a coffee, whatever they need. Avo's $2.50 each or 3 for $7.

The Grocer stocks all the Basics - Milk (Riverina Fresh 2L $3.80, Inside Out Almond Milk, BonSoy), Free Range Eggs $4.50/doz or 40c/egg, butter, flour, dried fruits, nuts, almond meal, rice, pasta etcera.

For Deli items there is - Ham, Smoked Salmon, Chrissy's Cuts Sausages (amazing!!), haloumi, as well as Brooklyn Boy Bagels $3.50... and more...

Your new Surry Hills The Grocer is stocking Fresh Flowers, mostly native and seasonal picks.

And then there's the Good Stuff - The Grocer's own range of house made produce, now under the brand 'Only Good Stuff Produce Co.' - cause there's literally only good stuff in them!

- Jams ie. Peach & Lime, Nectarine & Vanilla, Strawberry & Rhubarb;

- Marmalades all using local fruits ie. 4 fruit, Caramelised Citrus or Blood Orange

- Chutneys - Tomato (famous on our Egg & Bacon rolls), Pear & Rosemary Chutney, Pineapple & Red Pepper $10/tall jar $6.50/short jar
