Spirit Of The Wild

Wild Turkey teams up with Darren Robertson and Unyoked to celebrate real food, real craft and the real outdoors via exclusive new masterclass series.

A little piece of the wilderness popped up in Pyrmont this week for a celebration of all things rustic and unfiltered. Wild Turkey bourbon's 'Spirit of the Wild' event invited Sydney-siders to temporarily exit the daily 9-5pm grind, to reconnect with the great outdoors through exploring food and drink made with native and foraged ingredients.

The theme of the night was keeping it real, with simplicity triumphing all things.

Crafted by Wild Turkey, in collaboration with Chris and Cam Grant the founders of Unyoked (an off-grid cabin movement) and sustainable chef Darren Robertson (Three Blue Ducks and Rocker) we were immersed in a conversation about real food through a BBQ smoking masterclass as well as making cocktails inspired by Darren Robertson.

Darren Robertson said, “I’ve long been a champion for real food, and locally sourced ingredients that don’t compromise on flavour. It’s great to team up with Wild Turkey to inspire more people to experience, learn about, and enjoy real food."

And inspired they did with Unyoked founders the Grant brothers, reminding the crowd of the ultimate antidotal benefits of escaping to the outdoors. They started from a small cabin on a farm and have now grown a movement towards making the wilderness more readily accessible for individuals to truly disconnect and unplug.

The collaboration between Unyoked, Wild Turkey and Darren Robertson was a match made in heaven, leaving guests energized and itching to plan that weekend away.

The launch of the Spirit of the Wild masterclass series is the first of several nights to reconnect Aussies with the real outdoors.

The masterclass series launched on Thursday 15 August in Sydney and will run for three weeks for consumers. For more information, click here.

Dates: 22 August, 29 August, 4 September
Location: The Terminus, Pyrmont

If you're ready for that weekend away why not go for the Spirit of the Wild camping masterclass which will whisk you away to Glenworth Valley NSW for a night. More information about that can be found here.

Cam and Chris Grant shared with us this ultimate realization that “These days we often mistake living for having a life."

So look up from your phones and close the email tabs, because here's the event for you.
