To celebrate NAIDOC Week, Sydney’s Harbour foreshore park, Barangaroo Reserve will host the first ever NAIDOC Blak Markets at Barangaroo event on Saturday July 9th from 10am to 4pm, featuring bush tucker and live cooking demonstrations with renowned Indigenous chefs, Clayton Donovan, Fred's Bush Tucker and Black Olive, and food stalls with Auntie Beryl from Gardiners Lodge and Sharon Windsor from Indigiearth.

The event will see the iconic Blak Markets pop up in the open air at Barangaroo Reserve for one day only, transforming Nawi Cove into a lively marketplace showcasing Australia’s rich Indigenous culture. More than 20 stallholders will sell Indigenous arts, crafts and bush foods and the event will also feature live music, traditional Aboriginal dance performances, weaving workshops, shell workshops and site tours.

The cooking demonstrations will be held in the open air, with Fred's Bush Tucker on at 10.35am, Black Olive on at 11.30am and Clayton Donovan on at 12.25am. Each chef will prepare a special dish and encouraging visitors to try Indigenous bushfoods and learn about traditional Indigenous cooking methods.

Blak Markets provide economic development, training and employment opportunities to empower Indigenous people and communities across NSW, while supporting the transfer of knowledge and skills from Elders and Aboriginal artisans to the next generation.

NAIDOC events take place across the nation during NAIDOC Week (July 3rd - 10th) which is a time to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history, culture and achievements and is an opportunity to recognise the contributions that Indigenous Australians make to our country and our society.
