The Warwick, Cabramatta

Throughout the launch evening of the newly re-launched The Warwick in Cabramatta, the words 'much needed' were bandied around quite a bit. It seems that Sydney's West has been lacking an entertainment, eating, drinking, function-hosting venue and this new opening is hoping to change all of that. From what we saw at the event, it seems like The Warwick might be giving the area exactly what they want.

Formerly 'The Warwick Tavern', the space on the Hume Highway used to be a bit of a dive. Luckily the folks at Oscar's Hotels saw the place's potential and commissioned a total re-haul using local knowledge to make sure the new joint was ticking all the boxes.

With a 360 degree bar, full restaurant, two outside areas, full TAB facilities and a 700 seat function room, The Warwick is highly versatile and covers pretty much all the entertainment wants and needs of the locals. Throughout the evening, we got a sample of their extensive drinks menu with 50 beers on tap, a decent wine list and a variety of spirits and cocktails on offer.

We also got a little taster of the menu and while it's standard pub fare of burgers, schnitzel and fish and chips, it's done very well. The pizzas are woodfired, there's an excellent steak selection and even a few decent desserts (if you've got room!) This is the kind of place you could hold a wedding, have a family meal, watch the footy and host a birthday party, all at the same time.

Talking to other guests at the event and locals who were just stopping by to check out the place, everyone seems to be impressed with what the new owners have done to the place. It's worth a visit if  you're in the area.
