If the name Zebra Green sounds familiar it’s probably because you’ve passed their bottles of finger-licking sauce on the super market shelves or perhaps you’ve even picked up a bottle for yourself.
If their sauces alone are anything to go by, imagine trying twice the goodness and loading them on top of delectable meals cooked by chef Shane Lurie himself. Well, now you can at the Bondi Junction local hot spot that is Zebra Green.
If you’re easily bored of eating the same dishes over and over again, fear not. Interestingly, Zebra Green’s menu changes weekly and focuses on full flavoured, fresh and seasonal produce. The menu is inspired by Lurie’s childhood travels, so you’ll find a little bit of everything from sticky BBQ chicken wings to hearty tapas- style dishes and middle eastern flavours. Top picks of the night were the Humpty Doo saltwater barramundi with corn puffs, crushed peas, tomato and lemon ($22), the cream and crumbed fennel and, of course, the sticky smokey BBQ wings ($12).
Finish the night with freshly baked old-fashioned cakes, brought around on full display for your picking and choosing.
Zebra Green’s menu is designed for sharing, with plenty of small plates available with their very generously portioned mains. Open for brunch, lunch, dinner or drinks, there’s sure to be something to fulfill all cravings.
