The ancient Egyptians thought of eyebrows as protectors of good health, and they do in fact serve the functions of protecting us - keeping moisture (such as sweat and rain) and dust out of our eyes. Eyebrows are also one part of our tools of communication. Yet as importantly to the beauty conscious girl, eyebrows have the power to completely change the look of the face by correcting minor flaws such as small eyes or eyes that are too far apart.

Eyebrow fashion has changed through the millennia and by the time of the ancient Greeks and Romans, eyebrows were seen as symbolic of both purity and beauty in women. In the last century, eyebrow fashion has changed in extremes, from Marlene Dietrich 1930s thin and rounded arches, to 1960s Twiggy skinny brows and Marilyn arched and brushed brows, through to Brooke Shields '80s bushy and natural. In 2024, beauty is still obsessed with eyebrows; take a look at any celebrity or influencer pics.

"Feathering, also known as microblading, is a specialized semi-permanent technique that has taken the beauty world by storm. It's all about creating naturally fuller, more defined eyebrows with delicate, fine strokes that mimic the look of real brow hairs. Whether you're looking to enhance your existing brows or completely transform their shape, feathering is an artful process that can achieve beautifully balanced and effortlessly chic results" advises Australian beauty artist Noushin Rahimi who has three L.A. certifications.

When choosing a beauty therapist, Sydney Scoop recommends looking for someone who will answer your questions and provide confidence from qualifications and trusted reviews. We chose to trial a microblading treatment with Noushin at Eye Couture to correct thin and overplucked eyebrows and were happy with the natural looking results.

"Setting myself apart from other artists in Australia I travelled to Los Angeles and was trained by a celebrity artist in Beverly Hills. I have aimed to assist with post cancer patients, burns and scars patients and also to restore their confidence and facial symmetry. That is the most satisfying part of my work that gives me most of my motivation" Noushin adds.

Semi-permanent lip blush tattoo, a technique designed to enhance and redefine your lips naturally, is also available. "This procedure involves carefully depositing pigments into the lips' top layers, resulting in a subtle and long-lasting tint. It's an excellent choice for those seeking to achieve a soft and rosy lip color, correcting symmetry, or adding a touch of vibrancy to their lips without the daily hassle of lipstick application. Semi-permanent lip blush tattoo offers a confident, low-maintenance solution for timeless and effortlessly beautiful lips."
