Edingburgh Castle Recrowned

We all love a great pub, and particularly if we work in the city one where we can meander out of the office and down the road for a well-earned beverage when our day is done. Well here's news. One of the historic Sydney CBD pubs the Edinburgh Castle has undergone a complete renovation of its interiors and a contemporary food and beverage offering created by newly appointed Head Chef, Daniel Lanza, The Edinburgh Castle playfully reflects on its true Australian heritage.

Sydney Scoop was at the re-launch party and we have to say we are impressed. With a focus on premium quality food that offers a modern take on Australian pub dining, craft beers, a clever cocktail list and an impressive 100% Australian wine list curated by expert Sommelier, Matt Dunne, The Edinburgh Castle is rewriting the rules for inner city pubs.

Once home to Australian writer and poet, Henry Lawson, The Edinburgh Castle is where Lawson penned some of his great works. Subtle references to the venue’s impressive colonial past are reflected in both the new menu and the design.

Bianca Isgro, Interior Design Manager at Solotel who alongside architecture firm, Luchetti Krelle, was heavily involved in the renovations and responsible for the interior styling of the venue, has created an impressive sensitive and welcoming renovation.

The Edinburgh Castle Hotel is on the corner of Pitt and Bathurst Streets.
