Good Fortune Dumpling

Din Tai Fung is releasing an indulgent and instagrammable limited edition red and gold “Good Fortune Dumpling" that's available in store from tomorrow 23 January until 9 February. The dumplings are filled with decadent wagyu beef and black truffle and topped with the finest edible gold leaf flakes for a glistening finish. The red and gold colour combination represents lucky colours in Chinese culture, with red symbolising good fortune and happiness, and gold for good luck.

Ratrobats

On Friday 24 January at 1pm, World Square visitors are welcome to come and watch the traditional Plucking of the Greens and Lion Dance on poles to herald and celebrate the Lunar New Year.

Another World Square attraction will be a troupe of interactive Ratrobats where visitors will be able to watch in awe as their movements are mirrored by a Ratrobat on screen from 31 January to 16 February. And lick a special White Lotus Seed ice-cream while they are watching, available from Oh Matcha for $4.50 per serve.

Pop-Up Dumpling Bar

From 25 January to Sunday 9 February, Junk Lounge (Level 2 Cruise Bar) will be plating up an indulgent three-course banquet, complete with a selection of limited edition dishes such as Pork Char Siu with Plum Glaze and Shisho Chimichurri and Deep-Fried Ice-Cream with Strawberry Consommé. A selection of Asian inspired cocktails have also been added to the menu for a limited time only.

For the first time ever, Cruise Bar will have their first Dumpling Pop-Up Bar, inviting dinners to enjoy traditional style dumplings in Cruise Bar’s quayside courtyard from 5pm onwards.

Lunar Lanterns

Find your Chinese zodiac among 12 spectacular Lunar Lanterns at Circular Quay foreshore featuring a massive tower of nine gold metallic rat robots. Catch the flamboyant performances of lion dances with thunderous drumming under the Lunar Lanterns' glow every day of the festivities 25 January to 9 February.

Western Sydney

The largest and most exciting celebration in western Sydney is at Cabramatta where fabulous cultural festivities will feature the God of Fortune, lion dancing and loads of exciting entertainment at Freedom Plaza, Park Road 9am - 4pm, Saturday 8 February and Sunday 9 February 2020
