How To Celebrate International Women's Day

Nicki Alchin
2nd Mar 2017

In case you keep forgetting to pat yourself on the back for being one hell of a sensational specimen of a woman, don’t worry, International Women's Day is just around the corner (Wednesday, March 8th to be precise). On this day, you can celebrate on an individual or collective level, the varied social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. Yes – the fact that you may be the first woman in your family to graduate from university is worth celebrating, and so is Australia’s recent appointment of its first female High Court chief justice, Susan Kiefel, in 2016. There are so many highlights from the everyday to the extraordinary that we can acknowledge on a day like this.

So, take a break from your busy schedule to add your voice to the celebration. It’s time to applaud women in all of our wonderful unique guises and to #BeBoldForChange (the 2017 theme for International Women’s Day). Here’s five events to help you get into the mood. Go here https://www.internationalwomensday.com/Events for further inspiration.

Happy International Women’s Day to all.
