Gomeroi rapper based in South Sydney’s Maroubra Bidjigal Land, Kobie Dee has announced his highly lauded Red Bull 64 Bars will today be available for streaming on DSPs everywhere as Homebound - 64 Bars out via Bad Apples Music.

Homebound - 64 Bars was first made for Red Bull’s fifth season of the 64 Bars series, which selects MCs to hit the booth and lay down their own 64 bar freestyle. As always, Kobie Dee brings a hyper energy to the track, telling in his intimate pen stories of the journey he’s lived thus far and how they have shaped the values he holds dearest today. The fire run of rhymes was previously only available via Red Bull’s YouTube Music channel, and now due to popular demand is available to stream on Spotify and Apple Music.

On Homebound - 64 Bars Kobie says “I wanted to do something a bit different on this track by bringing an old school feel but doing it in my own way. I also wanted it to be something that people from my area could relate to which is why I threw in lots of local lingo and native language."

Homebound - 64 Bars will also appear in the upcoming feature film 6 Festivals, directed by Macario De Souza. Arriving in cinemas along the Eastern Seaboard on August 11, 6 Festivals is an uplifting Australian drama that sees three teen besties go to extremes to attend six music festivals. The film features guest appearances from Kobie Dee (performing the track) as well as Dune Rats, G Flip, Bliss n Eso, B Wise, Peking Duk, Ruby Fields, Jerome Farah and more.

Most recently, Kobie Dee completed his highly successful Gomeroi Nation tour. In partnership with Jackson Street and Create NSW, the tour made stops in Tamworth, Narrabri, Walgett and Boggabilla throughout March, before ending with a one-off Moree Block Party starring special guests Nooky, Triple One and Nter. The Gomeroi Nation tour represented an opportunity for Kobie to perform on his Country, alongside other local hand-picked talents, and tell stories through his critically acclaimed catalogue within communities who don’t generally have access to such live music events.

The Gomeroi Nation Tour tied in with Kobie Dee’s longtime dedication to community work and advocacy efforts. Last year, Kobie, with the help of Weave Youth & Community Services and Randwick Council, threw his debut Block Party in Maroubra’s Coral Sea Park, raising more than $40k for Youth Week 2021. It was an event that returned to Maroubra in April 2022, seeing an even larger lineup featuring JessB, A.GIRL and more. Kobie is also a Youth Ambassador for Weave Youth & Community Services and Just Reinvest NSW, and on January 26 of this year, Kobie was also announced as an ambassador for Nooky’s platform We Are Warriors, dedicated to inspiring, equipping and empowering Indigenous youth to succeed by connecting them with First Nations role models.

In 2021, Kobie Dee shared his debut EP Gratitude Over Pity to high acclaim from triple j, Pedestrian.TV, NME, GQ and more, plus saw the launch of his five-part podcast series, Know Role Models, featuring an inaugural episode with Australian of the Year and legendary sportsman, Adam Goodes. The series invited First Nations people to share their stories of overcoming adversity, together celebrating their unique strengths to inspire the next generation. Since 2018, Kobie Dee has found unique connection with his peers and audiences across Australia via effortless flows, laser-sharp execution, and visceral storytelling that connects deeply with all who listen. Kobie’s first official singles, Right Now and This Life were soon further amplified when he debuted Jody for triple j’s Bars Of Steel, a single that has since clocked 1.1 million views across platforms and over 3 million Spotify streams and climbing. On stage, Kobie has performed at Yabun Festival, Yo MTV Raps, Oxford Arts Factory, This That, NAIDOC Week’s 2019 Block Party, Better Daze, Sydney Festival and the Sydney Opera House as part of Briggs’ Bad Apples House Party for Vivid LIVE 2019.

As a role model to many, Kobie Dee continues to reveal his relentless drive and determination, sharing one of his most authentic storytelling releases, "Homebound" - available to stream for the first time today.
