If you are looking for something a bit different at Vivid this year for your crew, take a look at visiting Luna Park

There's no question that Sydney Harbour and Luna Park at night are already spectacular. By adding a couple of Vivid light installations, the team at Luna Park have made the experience amazing. Head to Coney Island to view 'Spirit of Fun' first up. This installation celebrates the fun park's 83 year history, fun n games, and its magic. Light show from 6pm to 10pm running every 15 minutes.

Once you have soaked up the atmosphere of Vivid at Luna Park, it might be a great time to jump on some rides to view the night sky from above. For fun park traditionalists, the ferris wheel truly delivers. The pure height climbed during the ride gives punters a bird's eye view of Sydney Harbour and its other icons, Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House. Jump in a gondola with a few friends or enjoy a solo ride full of Harbour view serenity.

Upon your disembarcation you can then spy the other Vivid light installation  'A Kaleidoscopic Tale' which showcases the beauty of a ferris wheel covered in lights. Get ready to view an explosikn of lights in three chapters. You can catch the show every 20 minutes.

A visit to Luna Park wouldn't be the same without a burn around the dodgem car track, a graceful prance on the carousel or a swing out view of Sydney Harbour on the new ride Volare. For a heart starter jump on the Hell Raiser or the Tango Train. The Rotor, Tumble Bee, Wild Mouse and Coney Island activities are also open for business during the nightly Vivid light show. You may also like to get a selfie with one of the roamjng street performers. Food and drinks are also available for purchase - Altum Vivid Sydney dining experience (5pm to 10pm) 2 courses for $60, 3 for $75 mediterranean styled menu - includes 1 car free parking. A cheaper alternative is Helter Skelter serving burgers and chips or Hungry Horse serving bistro styled meals. An ice cream parlour is also on site.

Add to the enjoyment by arriving or departing by ferry from Milsons Point wharf (Circular Quay and other destinations such as Balmain East are available - check your travel apps for details.)
