Reloaded: A Live Tribute to The Velvet Underground

@ The Factory Theatre

$15 + bf

In honour of The Velvet Underground's classic album Loaded, one of the seminal albums of the 1970s and the band's final proper studio album, a collective emerging artists, led by Sydney's Montes Jura, have gotten together to pay their respects.

Bands including The Upskirts, Burn Antares, The Grease Arrestor, Salvador Dali Llama, The Pinheads, Raindrop, Bad Valley, D’luna, Montes Jura & Lizzy Cross & The Infinity Snake will appear on a compilation album entitled Reloaded released for free via Bandcamp on October 27, the anniversary of the death of Velvet Underground frontman Lou Reed. Check out Burn Antares' lovely version of the album opener "Who Loves the Sun."

They will also be performing a live tribute at Marrickville's Factory Theatre following the compilation's release in November. This is a great opportunity for some of Sydney's finest to show off what they've learned from one of underground rock's absolute touchstones and in the process, show off what makes them so special.
