As a special Halloween treat, cinema-on-demand company Fan-Force (who released the Australian zombie flick Wyrmwood last year) would like to invite you to spend Halloween with them and a very special guest.
One of the best and most original horror movies in years, the Australian film The Babadook has been a word-of-mouth hit all over the world. Starring Essie Davis as beleaguered single mother Amelia, who is doing her best to raise her troublesome six-year-old Sam (Noah Wiseman) who is convinced there are monsters around every corner. When Amelia finds a strange, ominous pop-up book, she finds that she may have unwittingly invited an unwanted presence into their lives.
The Babadook, the hulking, top-hatted figure that will haunt your dreams, will be making an appearance the screening too. Tim Purcell, who worked in film's art department and as the prop maker who made the Babadook look so frightening, will arrive in costume (which will make for a perfect photo opportunity) and later do a Q&A alongside producer Kristina Ceyton.
This is an event that fans of horror and any other cinephiles should definitely not miss. Get in now and get in early to make sure you can contribute to further supporting this great Australian movie.
