The Hungry Spoon at Oatley offers delicious food from 7am and last food orders are at 2pm. So it is definitely a breakfast, brunch and lunch cafe. Seven days a week actually.

There's a ton of all day breakfast options, all generous in size, and big on flavour. We spy some lovely middle eastern influences on The Hungry Spoon menu from the Arabic baked eggs dish shakshouka (chakshouka) to a vegetarian chickpea and yoghurt dressing lunch main on the blackboard.

There really are a lot of choices here, The Hungry Spoon has a big menu, and sweet looks just as scrumptious as savoury. Top pick for a leisurely weekend was Brioche French toast, salted caramel sauce, berries and ice cream. Yes it's a big portion. Four delicious slices of brioche, with lashings of sauce on the side, and bountiful fruit. That little sprinkle of icing sugar and pretty plating made it even more appetising.

Fruit juices and smoothies compliment Artis coffee for the kickstart of the day. Coffee always tastes better in ceramics. Then there is a big mob of cakes and desserts and pastries for dine in or even takeaway if you are in a hurry. Everything is gorgeous, and while The Hungry Spoon is mostly serving locals, the cafe is worth a drive if you live somewhere else in Sydney.

Seating options are both inside with comfortable air conditioning or rows of tables and chairs curbside.

The big bonus is the happy friendly team with owner Chadia on the floor of her cafe. Always a plus. Big love. And she'll send it right back atchya. Thanks The Hungry Spoon.
