Calling all artists, curators, musicians, performers, architects and collectives - The City of Sydney is seeking Expressions of Interest for Art & About 2015/6. Do you have a big idea that will temporarily transform public and unique places in Sydney for Art & About Sydney 2015. They are offering funding to projects up to $80,000. Ideas and proposals from all art disciplines are welcome, including but not limited to visual artists, curators, performers, collectives, filmmakers, musicians, writers, composers, theatre companies, producers, choreographers and anyone with a big creative idea that meets our creative brief.
Art & About Sydney 2015 will run from 18th September – 11th October 2015. In addition to the 2015 Festival, Art & About will produce a number of works outside the festival period on a project basis.
THE BRIEF – PROJECTS AND INSTALLATIONS
They are looking for projects and installations that are:
1.Temporary works presented in a public or unusual space
2.Demonstrate artistic excellence
4.Involve or engage the audience in its development/presentation or both
All projects and installations must meet the terms and conditions to be considered.
Selected works will be realised either for the Art & About Sydney 2015 Festival (18 September – 11 October) or as individual projects presented between June 2015 – December 2016.
A number of projects will be supported, valued between $10,000 – $80,000. Budgets for the installation/project are to cover all costs for the presentation of the artwork.
If your project is shortlisted, the City may pay the artist/organisation a fee of $1000 (plus GST if applicable) to refine the project proposal.

3.Artwork statement 200-250 words (2000 maximum characters, describing the artwork/project concept and how it meets the Art & About criteria
4.Artist impression /concept drawing of the proposed work/project
5.An indicative budget
