The Boathouse Balmoral Beach

The Boathouse Balmoral Beach opened in 2013 after being revamped by the team behind The Boathouse Palm Beach. The success of the iconic Palm Beach café has been replicated in a more accessible, but equally stunning, spot at Balmoral. The menu is designed around seasonal fresh local produce. For breakfast choose from dishes like croissant French toast with apple, macadamia and caramel, or the raw muesli with coconut yoghurt, almond milk and fruit. Or linger over lunch with a glass (or three) of wine, coupled with their fish and chips or a Boathouse burger (both famous in their own right thanks to Instagram). The Boathouse is as much casual-cool as it is beach-chic. It’s bright and flowery and always just a little bit more busy than you would like. But, with a separate take-away kiosk, plenty of staff and a new juice bar the long queues seem limited to sunny Sundays. Tempted? Just remember it’s no reservations so expect to wait for a table. And, once you find one don’t lose it – there’s typically plenty of people lingering around waiting for a seat.
