Mr. G’s, owned and operated by Patrick and Angela Gallagher of Gallagher Hotels, is opening within the  5 star the Intercontinental Double Bay. Paying homage to his father, Patrick has aptly named the space Mr. G’s in reference to the long serving nickname of his father, the original Mr. G.

An authentic American grill with a focus on the best steaks Sydney can offer, Mr. G’s will be serving quality sourced meat, seafood and fresh produce, cooked by chef to the stars Dave Little, who was George Lucas’s private chef. Mr. G’s is also one of the first venues in Australia to use the MIBRASA grill, a wood fired, charcoal driven oven that doesn’t use gas or electricity, which allows food to be cooked retaining its natural flavours and bringing out a unique smoky taste.

Mr. G’s Venue Manager Doug Laming, who is an avid and passionate molecular mixologist, helped create the unique and eclectic bar menu for the venue. With only American craft beers on tap, from the best breweries in the US, Mr. G’s Bar & Grill is positioned as an American small bar. Serving over 100 whiskies, they feature rare and unique brands, along with a full selection of spirits, liqueurs and aperitifs for even the most discerning of palates.

The venue has been designed by Peter Jay from Peter Jay Design Associates, who served as Diageo’s preferred architect during his 18 year stay in Japan. He played a pivotal role in establishing the Irish Pub Concept in Japan and other parts of Asia. Mr. G’s Bar & Grill is upscale, with an industrial feel featuring leather and brass accents and very wood heavy, with multiple spaces including the Lounge Room, 14m wood bar and Private Dining Room.

Mr. G’s Bar & Grill is set to be a definite stand-out in the Double Bay bar and restaurant scene. With an emphasis on sharp service, impressive menus, stylish drinks selection and a bustling American vibe, customers can experience their own slice of Brooklyn in a chic Double Bay setting.
