A little glimpse at French Vietnamese colonial history, this incy wincy parlour is as cosy as it gets. Best perch on bar stools, or cuddle up on tables for two. Rare Asian vintage soul from the 50s, 60s and 70s is music to transport you. Asian inspired drinks - like the Ho Chi Minh Sling (lychees, lemon, cucumber and mint topped with dry gin, lychee liqueur and jasmine tea) - continue the mood. And of course, because the bar sits behind the Red Lantern on Riley restaurant of TV celebrity chef Luke Nguyen, the Saigon ‘street snacks’ inspired food here is pretty bloody fabulously delicious too.
