Sydney Festival: Arthur Russell's Instrumentals

Arthur Russell, a composer who existed at the little-explored nexus of pop and avant-garde, combining classical structures with disco propulsion, left behind a relatively small but hugely influential body of work. For the 2016 Sydney Festival, Arthur Russell's Instrumentals concert will be restaged and revisited by a group of musicians helmed by Peter Gordon. This is a rare chance to get up close and personal with the music of one of the most fascinating composers of the 21st century.
