It’s not everyday that you stumble upon a new artist that is so intriguing and profound that you just know that their music will stay with you for a lifetime! Secret Sounds are so excited to welcome AURORA to Australia for the very first time, playing headline shows in Sydney and Melbourne in early 2017.

AURORA is a 19-year-old Norwegian singer/songwriter that released her debut full-length All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend earlier this year, taking us all deep into her mesmerising world of atmospheric electronic pop, fused with mystical storytelling and bound together by her captivating and ethereal voice.

Just announced for St Jerome’s Laneway Festival, AURORA presents her latest track taken from her debut album, ‘Warrior’.

AURORA’s Australian tour will cap off a massive twelve months. Upon releasing her debut album in March, she secured the feature album slot on triple j (as well as a top 5 most-played single), had her music featured in a promo for Offspring, and racked up an impressive 50 million views on YouTube. That’s not to mention catching the attention of late night show host Jimmy Fallon when she made her US TV debut on The Tonight Show earlier this year, all before she took the world by storm at SXSW.

Her performance of ‘Conqueror’, the first single to be lifted from her album, is a ball of energy, spark and personality. With her shimmering and dancing across the stage, AURORA proves she’s doing exactly what she is born to do.

AURORA treads a fine line between indie sensibilities and pop hooks, and just a touch of weirdness somewhere between Grimes, Lorde, Lauren Mayberry of Chvrches, and Bjork. Her fairy-tale reminiscent songs swap weakness and sorrow for happiness, punctuating even the heaviest of topics with laughs and thoughtful tangents. Her sense of wonder and fantasy inhabits every corner of her music, coupled with an anthemic swell of synths and magical vocals – we can’t wait to finally see her live!
