The first cricket pitch at North Sydney Oval was laid in December 1867, making it one of the oldest cricket grounds in Australia. The luscious grass is surrounded by historic buildings which during summer provide a beautiful backdrop for north shore residents for the alternative evening oval entertainment of Sunset Cinema.

With screenings running until Saturday 24th March, there is plenty of opportunity to grab a crew, pack a picnic, and prepare to be entertained by an epic line-up of Oscar favourites, the latest blockbusters, golden oldies and films the whole family will love. The film program Wednesday to Saturday each week include the inspiring The Post, Sweet County, I - Tonya, Molly's Game and Hollywood’s latest blockbuster starring Hugh Jackman, The Greatest Showman on Earth.

Of course there's popcorn available onsite. And more substantial food with The Greens dishing up prawn brioche rolls, slow-cooked beef brisket and crispy onion baguettes, gourmet cheese platters and dessert plates with chocolate dipped strawberries and macaroons. For adult beverages there's Madfish Wines and craft beer from 4 Pines Brewing Company.

Reserved bean bag options ramp up even lusher for Valentine's Day for a romantic viewing of Ghost with dinner delivered direct to your canoodling area.
