Multiple award-winner and entertainer Catherine Alcorn returns as the legendary Bette Midler in this joyous music and comedy event – hot on the heels of Sydney World Pride.

Offering Sydneysiders the perfect way to cap off their pride celebrations, The Divine Miss Bette will play a limited season at Darlinghurst Theatre Company from 29 March to 1 April.

Tickets are on sale now via the Darlinghurst Theatre Company Website.

Backed by a sizzling live band and dancers Alcorn belts, teases and winks her way through Midler’s iconic catalogue, channeling the beloved diva with her own brand of Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve and Talent.

With hits such as Friends, In The Mood, Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, Do You Wanna Dance, The Rose and the show-stopping Wind Beneath My Wings – this deliciously cheeky production is equal parts irreverent and effervescent.

The Divine Miss Bette has sold out across the globe, receiving standing ovations throughout the US and back home, under the sails of the Sydney Opera House.

“You had better believe we are dusting off every sequin in Sydney in preparation for this monumental event! It’s what we all need right now… JOY! A laugh, a sing along, perhaps a little cry, and the Divine Miss Bette will deliver that in spades.”

Performing as Bette Midler is a hand-meets-glove experience for Alcorn, known for her big voice, brassy persona and wicked comic timing. First premiering the show in 2009, Catherine had the good fortune to meet and be trained by Steve Ostrow, the man who discovered Midler herself.

"I began working with Catherine in 2009 and instantly recognised the same fire, passion and star quality in her that I saw in a young Bette all those years ago. Vocally, Catherine is masterful. Her performances and approach to the material are a masterclass in song interpretation. Seeing her perform brings me great joy. Catherine's energy on stage and her authentic connection to her audiences can't be taught. She's the real deal. She's a star.”
