The Little Kitchen

While there’re still some good places to go in Coogee, they’re mostly tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Coogee Bay Road.  The Little Kitchen is a great example.  On Arden Street, it’s nicely separated from the hysteria of the beach but is only a two-minute saunter from the surf.  The small space is rustic and intimate while the menu’s simple and seasonal.  The Kedgeree with smoked fish, crisp shallots and soft-boiled egg is flavoursome and a textural dream come true.  Coffee is by Double Roasters, and you can get your fix every day over breakfast and lunch.  The cafe turns into a restaurant on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, with Neil dishing up some of the freshest, most seasonal produce on offer.
