Birdman, the 2015 Oscar winner for Best Picture, stunned audiences around the world with its complex screenplay, tricky editing and propulsive jazz score. Now, the man behind that score, gifted drummer Antonio Sanchez will be playing live alongside the film as part of the 2016 Sydney Festival. Just like for the film, Sanchez's performance will be completely improvised, bringing moments of surprise and reflection to the screening.
