The gang at beloved CBD venue GoodGod has teamed up with the folks at Young Henrys for Road House – happening every Thursday night in June involving live music, craft beers and a setting as close to the classic Patrick Swayze film as possible.
Young Henry’s Roadhouse is your pop-up tasting bar in the CBD designed for devotees to the fine brew who need not venture further into the wild, wild (inner) west to sample their goods. With plenty of tables for beer swilling’, Growlers over the bar, special Young Henry’s brews on tap and an array of lovely beer wenches and tinny boys at your beck and call.
The Danceteria will be the site of the Roadhouse, featuring a ‘stage in a cage’ for a run of live garage, rockabilly and backyard blues performances.
It kicks off Thursday June 4 with Melbourne troublemakers Twin Beasts as the house band and Time Out’s Bottled Lightning Co. launching their collaborative Young Henrys brew. Following weeks feature 60’s inspired rock’n’blues legends Los Tones, rockabilly lone wolf Pat Capocci and hardened road dog Jack Carty.
The first 100 punters through the door get their first brew on the House. And you can be damn well sure there’s peanuts in shells and Belly Bao’s ever popular Baoger, also only available on Thursdays.
