Australia’s very own RY X is thrilled to announce he’ll be returning to home soil in January 2017, lighting up stages in both Sydney and Melbourne off the back of his performances at all Falls Festivals over the New Year.
After moving to LA, we came to know Ry through a bunch of acclaimed projects, The Acid and Howling, captivating in their own right. In contrast to his surrounds, he wrote fragile songs built on acoustic guitar and piano, often recording to tape and enjoying the lo-fi feel. 2016 has seen him debut his eagerly anticipated album ‘Dawn’. Recorded live with only Ry and his guitar, every song on ‘Dawn’ has a threadbare power, filled with stripped back arrangements and mysterious sentiment.
