Last Cab to Darwin is heartfelt Australian film that is a labour of love for director Jeremy Sims, who has been working on it since its inception as a play more than a decade ago.
This film version of Last Cab to Darwin stars Michael Caton as Rex, a cab driver in Broken Hill who starts a 3000 km journey to Darwin to find the doctor (Jacki Weaver) who he thinks can help him end his life painlessly with dignity. Along the way he discovers more about life and love than he ever did driving the same passengers around day after day.
This fine, beautifully made film with stick with you a long time after the credits roll. Just make sure to have some tissues handy.
